Fitbit Syncing is not good - Update

*Update* It finally synced! It looks like it appears to be good to go now. Still 4 stars since it's pretty similar to all the other tracking on the market, but it's a solid app.

Walker Tracker for some reason won't pull steps from previous days. So if you sync your steps early in the morning to Fitbit and then don't sync again until the next day, Walker Tracker will only show the low count from the previous day. I used to be able to get it to manually sync and they would fix the issue, but with the recent my revamp of the website, it is no longer possible. Even worse, it won't let you edit your steps for that day to manually add them if it has any data for that day from Fitbit. No way to manually add it... Basically makes the Tracker part of Walker Tracker useless. I wouldn't use this app if I didn't have to through my work. Used to be really great and just fine (even if annoying) when manually syncing worked.

Could be better

I like that the app is compatible with my phone and Fitbit but it has some mechanical issues. So far for me I have to be very conscious of the time because after midnight it’s very hard to get it to sync data from the day before (even only second after it strikes 12). I use it for a competition and I got cheated several thousand steps just because of this issue. Other members in my team registered zero steps because the app doesn’t automatically register your steps if you don’t open the app up daily. It could function a little better for conversation with team members. Also when you take a picture with the app it doesn’t save to your phone so in order to keep the picture you’d have to screenshot it or take the picture with your camera first and then upload. Little things could make it a better app. That said, it works well for the competition because we all use the same platform to keep our tallies. These issues are just a source of frustration, especially because competition usually means you’re trying to win and the app is causing me to do more work than I need to by not functioning as effectively as I would like.

Hello,

I'm sorry you're seeing those issues. You shouldn't need to open the app every day, and there may have been a permissions issue in syncing which we can help you correct if you write in to support@walkertracker.comAlso, we can look into the photo issue you are seeing.Additionally, we offer a 48 hour grace period at the end of any competition in which to provide correct any missing steps. In general, if you ever have an issue you can write to support@walkertracker.com in order to see if its an issue with the program or a unique glitch we can fix.

Thank you for moving with us,

Fitbit frustrations

I sync my Fitbit to Fitbit’s cloud/Internet presence, I wait 10 minute, and then I check with this app ( because this app is used by our organization). If I am lucky, the count it claims to have gotten from Fitbit’s site (which I had to give it permission to access, and too much permission in my opinion) is wrong/old by 6 hours.

This makes things DISCOURAGING because now I appear to be a slacker (which right now, I am). This app has never been perfect with Fitbit products/website (I have owned 3 different types of Fitbit devices), but right now, it is the pits.

I gave it 2 stars because like a broken clock, it may be right twice a day.

Developer Response ,

We're sorry that you are experiencing this frustration! Fitbit only sends steps over to Walker Tracker intermittently throughout the day, so there will often be times when the applications don't match each other. However, we would like to make sure there isn't a bigger issue happening with your account. If you could send a message to our customer care team at support@walkertracker.com, they will do some research into your particular account setup. Thank you.
